Amazon Presents Eat the World with Emeril Lagasse
The 6th annual Los Angeles Food and Wine Festival kicked off with a BAM Thursday night on the steps of the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Emeril Lagasse hosted and brought together chefs from all over the country in honor of his upcoming Amazon Original Series, Eat The World.
The show highlights Emeril’s award winning friends and colleagues, and LAFW night one was no different. Guests sampled delicious treats, ranging from savory to sweet, while sipping on the best nation’s best libations. I really didn’t eat one thing I didn’t like.
I’d be lying if I said I didn’t eat dessert first. Sweet Lucie’s had an adorable set up of delicious ice cream treats. How could I walk past without getting a scoop? I particularly loved their Salted Caramel Ice Cream.
Chef Frania Mendivil of Patina Resturant Group wowed guests with her delicious and fun Dragon Breath Meringues and Whiskey Bon Bons, served with vanilla Chantilly, nitrogen rocks, and chocolate sauce.
Chris Ford and the Beverly Wilshire didn’t just serve up one dessert; they kicked it up a notch and served at least five. From hazelnut dipped Madeline’s, to caramel macrons, to chocolate truffles, this table really hit home for this dessert love.

I was also thrilled to taste Bernhard Mairinger’s Sacher Cake. This Austrian treat hits close to home for me, as my grandparents are from Hungary, and oh boy did it make me happy to taste.
Beyond dessert, the dinner for the evening ranged just about every style of cuisine from Emeril’s wings and the Lobos Truck’s waffle fries to Chef John Tesar’s Seafood Salad Ceviche and Joe’s Stone Crab Tamales (a lovely tribute to Miami). I was blown away by the scope of cuisine at LA Food and Wine’s Eat The World opening night.
If you weren’t able to make it, check out why you could have rolled me home when the night was through.
