For all those desiring a majestic and refined event in Miami, this All American Wine Gala beckons thee. Honoring America’s wine-making prowess, The American Fine Wine Competition, is one of the nation’s most prominent and prestigious wine events. Celebrating its upcoming eighth anniversary, the AFWC along with Florida International University and Southern Wine & Spirits, will host this first annual, exhilarating fundraiser at the Kovens Conference Center to benefit FIU’s Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management on Friday, December 5, 2014, from 6:00-10:30 p.m.
The highly anticipated All American Wine Gala begins at 6 p.m. on the rooftop of the Kovens Center, with a “Sparkling Reception” featuring AFWC medal-winning Sparkling wine from the Competition, a Rum bar, Vodka bar, Tequila bar, and several FIU Alum restaurants and caterers serving sumptuous hors d’oeuvres, while guests peruse the silent auction, soak up the wine and enjoy the sounds of classical guitar.
With a prestigious guest list including FIU Alum, philanthropists, business professionals, and wine enthusiasts, the Gala will feature more than 90 wines that were entered into the competition last January, and for this event, will be supplied by our wine partner, Southern Wine & Spirits.
Following the reception, all the wines will be poured for you by your personal “Wine Angel”, during a magnificent dinner, prepared by FIU Culinary Instructor, Chef Mike Moran. A live auction will commence during this time. The rock band Breeze will play. BREEZE is the finest “tribute” band you will ever hear. Longtime fans of this group all say the same thing; “This band is amazing — you’re hearing all your favorite artists in concert—all in one night.”

About the American Fine Wine Competition
Since 2007 AFWC has raised more than $700,000 for local charities and helped brand both local businesses through sponsorship and many small boutique wineries in the US through unique wine and fundraising events.
AFWC is the first Competition and Gala to bring America’s finest vineyards from around the country into one room. The Competition, an annual invitational, takes place in January at FIU’s Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management and is private, open only to sponsors and invited media.
