Upon entering there is a beautiful display of the most appreciated tequilas and mezcals. I like to call it the Tequila Tower of Trouble 😉 Having always been a huge tequila lover, I admire and respect all of the different styles and appreciate the wide variety of tequilas being offered at Lona Cocina Tequileria.
Agave-Centric Craft Cocktails & Freshly Made Margaritas
Margaritas are definitely one of the most enjoyed cocktails with several variations of how they can be crafted and the Lona Margarita is an absolute masterpiece. The Lona Margarita is honestly one of the best margaritas we’ve ever tried. Being made with Maestro Dobel, lime and agave, and being offered in multiple flavors such as passion fruit and mango. Even if you aren’t in the mood for a full dining experience, we highly recommend even stopping in for drinks because the Lona Margarita is one of a kind and we promise you won’t be disappointed.
Other suggestions we can make is the Media Luna and Pavo Real. The sweet and girly Media Luna is crafted with Hiatus Blanco, blackberries, pineapple and lime. The Pavo Real has a full body flavor with an interesting and enjoyable bite at the end, made with ginger infused Maestro Dobel, mango, lime, cinnamon and agave.
Sizzling Starters – Crab Infused Guacamole & Lobster Quesadillas
A true Mexican meal always starts with guacamole. At Lona Cocina Tequileria the guacamole is offered in three flavors: tradicional, lump crab or bacon & chicharron. Lump crab in your guacamole? Now we fancy.
The best dish we tried was definitely the lobster quesadillas. YOU MUST TRY THE LOBSTER QUESADILLAS. It is one of their most popular dishes and wow, now we know why. The dish is created with butter-poached Maine lobster, flour tortilla, chipotle aioli, red onion and cilantro. The lobster is very tender and juicy as you bite into the gooey cheese and sauce. It has the perfect balance of each ingredient while not being too messy and providing a unique and flavorful bite of orgasmic cuisine. We will back for the lobster quesadillas.
Exquisite Entrees – Pablo’s Fajitas & Crab Enchiladas
The popular Pablo’s Fajitas are served with roasted chicken, skirt steak, pork carnitas or shrimp. It comes with roasted peppers, tomatoes, bacon, guacamole and pico de gallo. We tried the shrimp version and were very impressed with the rich flavor of the meal.
Crab enchiladas, a very unique dish. This interesting entrée is served with lump blue crab, jalapeno cream, pepper morita sauce, pickled onions and cotija cheese. It was our first time trying crab enchiladas and definitely not our last. It was a bit of a shock biting into the enchilada not expecting such a strong crab flavor, but it was oddly incredibly delicious. It is a newer dish on the menu and has been a huge success already. If you love crab, we highly suggest the enchiladas.
Dazzling Dessert – Lona Churros
Having a big sweet tooth and craving for all things sweet, I was very excited for my favorite course of every meal, dessert. We ordered the Churros, served with abuelita chocolate dipping sauce. So much yumminess! The churros are a great way to end a marvelous meal at Lona Cocina Tequileria.
