Uncorked Miami – Lexus UPTOWN’s Culinary Art Basel Event
After traveling from New York to Chicago, Lexus UPTOWN arrived to kick off Art Basel, and uncorked Miami with its luxury food and wine experience at the Hype Studios in the eclectic Wynwood Art District.
As a delicious start to Miami’s Art Week, Lexus UPTOWN Uncorked Miami hosted a private culinary experience showcasing an eclectic mix of food, wine, entertainment and art.
Guests enjoyed tasting menu by prominent Chefs Amaris Jones and Irie Spice (Hugh Sinclair) with custom wine pairings provided by Diageo sommeliers.
Known as “Miami’s Soul Food Sister,” Chef Amaris Jones became one of the most celebrated chefs in the South Florida with the launch of South Street restaurant in 2012.
Most recently she has joined forces with Reebok to create healthy meal plans for rap music artist Rick Ross. As the artist’s personal chef, Ross has now lost over 80 pounds through workouts and healthy meals created by chef and lifestyle maven, Amaris.
Hugh Sinclair AKA Chef Irie Spice, hails from the Caribbean Island of Jamaica, where he grew up on a sugar plantation. After relocating to the Sunshine State, Chef Irie took the South Florida culinary landscape by storm, becoming the executive chef of Chef Irie Spice Inc., a personal chef and catering services company working with entertainers, athletes and many South Florida elite.
His highly anticipated and critically acclaimed TV cooking mini- series, Taste the Islands with Chef Irie, was launched nationwide on April 2015 in 135 PBS markets.
Mouthwatering, and highly sought after, dishes at Uncorked Miami included original chicken, vegetarian, and beef recipes.
Crispy Chicken Skewers with and an inventive Collard Jalapeño Pesto and Pickled Radish that added an extra kick.
My personal favorite was the tender Panther Coffee Braised Short Ribs over a rich Smoked Gouda Polenta elegantly spiced with Orange Zest.
A nicely sweetened Calabaza Puree over savory Coffee Spiced Chicken.
The vegetarian Sweet Corn Pancake with Sauteed Coconut Kale, Spiced Toasted Coconut Crunch and Cilantro Sauce was a culinary treat for all foodie types.
During the Lexus UPTOWN Uncorked Miami tasting, DJ Lil Mic spinned for the mingling crowd viewing the visual masterpieces of Athletes for Art’s artists Desmond Mason, King Saladeen, and Aaron Maybin on display.
