Sublime Concert with Dirty Heads is Marvelous

Sublime Concert with Dirty Heads – Sublime with Rome & the Dirty Heads have joined their potent musical forces together this summer for a spectacular 29 show tour across our great Country.  The tour kicked off with the Tribal Seeds on June 25th and Thank the Universe the Dirty Heads joined the tour for the Miami show I attended. Later on 311, Matisyahu, New Kingston, and Bleeker will be joining the tour too.

The only thing better than seeing a band you grew up loving, is seeing them as well as being introduced to a new band that blows you away!! Luckily I experienced this at the Sublime concert with my introduction to the Dirty Heads in Miami. I grew up jamming out to Sublime. I must have played their self titled album over 1,367 times just in my car as a teen. To see them perform was a smile inducing burst of nostalgia that is hard to replicate. Here is a lil bit of Sublime:

The bands are very close and even share the same management company. Rome has popped in on a couple Dirty Heads songs “Lay Me Down,” “Mongo Push” and Sublime has featured the Dirty Heads on “Sirens.”  The each jumped on stage while the other was performing to add some extra luster to the sets.

While Sublime was stupendous, it was the Dirty Heads that really left their mark. I had heard of them vaguely, but had no idea how ridiculously talented they are. Loved almost every one of their songs, even the brand new titles the played. The Dirty Heads are genre bursting. They combine rock, hip hop and reggae that flows so melodiously, but also gets you out of your seat dancing. Check out a live show of theirs below:

Dirty Heads is led by 2 singers, Duddy B and Dirty J (badass names) that take turns both singing and rapping. They flow so well in tandem and opposing each other and it was a joy to watch them go at it. Those types of bands usually do not sound as good live as they do from your screen, but these guys did!

The Sublime Concert with Dirty Heads was beyond Marvelous! Definitely go catch them on their remaining tour dates to be taken back to old school and to be introduced to the wonderful new school. You can grab tickets by clicking here.
