Sambiches Pop Up At Downtown Bistro

Savvy sandwich duo from local culinary concept Sambiches are popping-up again and this time they will be taking over the kitchen at Downtown Bistro.  In fine French fashion, the Chilean and Cuban influenced cooks will create 4 stylish sandwiches to reflect the theme of the downtown restaurant.  This Saturday, February 28th from 6-10 PM guests are invited to visit Downtown Bistro for a night of live entertainment, drink specials and lots of sandwiches including a spin on Tuna Nicoise, an authentic Merguez (lamb sausage), a savory Madame Croqueta and more!

A special happy hour will take place from 6-8:30 PM where “sambich” fans can enjoy 2-4-1 drink specials including fine French wine.  Throughout the evening guests can listen to live music from multi-instrumentalist Adrian Gonzalez of Oigo while sipping on $5 glasses of sangria all night long.  Downtown Bistro’s dinner menu will not be available and sandwiches will range between $8-$12.  Reservations are suggested and can be made by calling (305)-374-7284 or RSVP on the Facebook event here.

About Sambiches:

A Chilean and a Cuban walk into a bar and decide they’re hungry. Cuban says to Chilean that she wants an American, which is actually a French sandwich, which launched the conversation that would soon become the sambiches…

The pair has been friends since the seventh grade and cooking together just as long. As sambiches they have taken the foods of our childhoods and travels, taken them apart, and put them back together between two slices of bread. Each of the menus has a unique theme and each sandwich is created by the Chilean, a trained pastry chef, and the Cuban, a home cook and occasional writer.

Sambiches eat, cook, create sandwiches with punny names out of traditional dishes they love.  Ever menu is lovingly created in their home kitchens, tested on our friends, and assembled on-site at every event.
