Comfort Food at its Finest

The Rusty Bucket is American cuisine restaurant located at Doral’s new and shiny town center, called City Place Doral in the heart of Doral, making it Dora’s downtown shopping destination.

Driving down the main driveway, flanked by two “luxury” apartment buildings with modern industrial-pacific architecture, we make our way to the roundabout the sits at the end of the driveway with seating, stage lighting, fountain features, and into the parking garage, off to the right, with plenty of parking for a nominal fee, The Rusty Bucket is conveniently located right in front of the development. From parking to restaurant the stroll is nice and short. A great place to Doral residents to live, eat and work.

When we walk in we are greeted by friendly and attentive staff, Brandon our host and Dijon our waiter. We came for an early dinner on a weekday, so there was no wait for a table, but I can imagine this place gets pretty busy during their peak hours but makes for a convivial atmosphere.

The decor is classic neighborhood bar and family friendly restaurant with a northeastern city slant. The walls are brick with many large flat-screen TVs and large cozy booths. The details symbolize a casual hearty fun eatery. They have a great outdoor patio just perfect for those days South Florida evenings.

Their hard-working chefs take great pride in creating comfort food at its best. They serve a wide selection of food, such as steak, pasta, chicken, burgers and a daily special.

Rusty Bucket Spinach Con Queso

Rusty Bucket Bucket Bites

My guest and I ordered two appetizers to start. The Spinach Con Queso, which is a blend of spinach, white wine, and cheeses, served with tortilla chips. The cheese dip was thick and creamy for a hearty sharable. And the Bucket Bites, their version of the White Castle style burger, four mini burgers on potato buns with grilled onion, yellow cheddar cheese and topped with pickle chips.

Rusty Bucket Chicken Parmesan

Rusty Bucket Chicken Finger BLT

For my entree I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, The chicken breast is seasoned in a panko crust and topped with marinara sauce, provolone cheese and served with Alfredo pasta and garlic cheese bread. My guest ordered the Chicken Finger BLT Sandwich with a beer-battered breading, lettuce, American cheese, tomato, and bacon. It was an unusual take on the chicken finger. It was like a fish and chip but with chicken instead.

Rusty Bucket Root Beer Float

For dessert, we split a Root Beer Float, a cold, frosty mug of Rogue draft root beer over Edy’s vanilla bean ice cream. It was delicious and brought back memories when my grandfather and I used to get root beer floats together. They even served an extra glass of root beer in case we ran out of root beer.

This will be your new favorite spot to bond with friends and co-workers over good food and drinks. Check out their blog The Bucket Life. It is lively with lots of community service projects, which is a valuable trait of giving back and making life fun. There are amazing pictures and even videos of them cooking! You can cross this establishment off your “bucket list.”
