Rocco’s Tacos and Tequila Bar New York

From the peninsula of Florida, all the way to New York, Rocco’s Tacos brings a new era of tacos and tequila to downtown Brooklyn.  If you’re looking for a “Taco Tuesday” or “Mexican Night“, Rocco’s Tacos just might be the spot to meet up. Not everything great is located in Manhattan! Brooklyn happens to be where it’s at, as well! If you’re looking for a good hangout spot, this is your “go to”!

The place is super spacious, with two floors.  It’s very easy to accommodate large parties, so bring ALL the friends along!  There is even a tequila vault full of over 300 different kinds of tequila! This is definitely the place to go for a birthday celebration or a night out with friends. There is a DJ who comes to play during the evening hours as well, which enhances the vibrant atmosphere.  The interesting décor is actually authentic. Rocco’s Tacos gets it from small villages all throughout Mexico.  It just gives the place an all around good vibe.

Adding to this already unique experience, is the offering of table-side guacamole. There are different varieties to choose from, allowing you to pick how spicy you want it. It’s made-to-order, right in front of you!  The chips that come with it are dusted with a special spice blend to give this dish an extra punch of flavor.

Meat eaters and vegetarians alike are welcome at Rocco’s Tacos!  I tried out the vegetarian enchilada plate, and it was fantastic.  The proportions are ridiculous!  You get two enchiladas with a side of beans and rice.  If you really wanted, you could totally share a plate, and still end up being full!

Tuesdays at Rocco’s Tacos are particularly great because it is “taco and tequila Tuesday“, complete with tequila drink specials and all-you-can-eat tacos! These aren’t just any tacos! I had the carne asada version, which were fantastic, because they marinate the steak over night. Talk about great flavor!

Another great item is the jalapeno poppers, definitely a signature dish! They were different from any other poppers I have had- and way better! These are the actual fresh jalapeno peppers that are deep fried, not the mystery blobs you might find at other places!

Some Mexican places either have plantain chips, or sweet plantains, not both.  I was in luck, because I’m a total sucker for fried sweet plantains, and they have them.  I mean, it’s a fruit, so I’m eating somewhat healthy, right!?

Dun, dun, dun…and here is the moment everyone actually waits for…the dessert!  They have a great selection to choose from.  I got the vanilla ice cream and churros topped with whipped cream and a chocolate caramel drizzle. The only issue at this restaurant is that you might not want to stop eating, even after you’re full!

Overall, Rocco’s Tacos has a great ambiance to come and eat and have a drink, (endless selection). So just keep this in mind if you’re looking for good food in New York.  Brooklyn has the spots, too!
