Ping Pong, Pizzas, & Peroni at Miami Beach EDITION’s Market

Whenever I get a chance to eat pizza, you know I’m going to be there. I was lucky enough to have attended the Ping Pong, Pizzas, & Peroni event at Miami Beach Edition’s Market hosted by Chef Jean-Geroges Vongerichten. The event had several sections: one dedicated to all pizza lovers, another catering to those with a sweet tooth, a seafood section, and of course bars where you could get Peroni-inspired cocktails. The venue was astonishing. I made sure I made my way down every section, while trying not to stare at all the famous chefs within the crowd.

The first place I gravitated towards at the Peroni event was, of course, the pizza station. That’s the first thing I saw when I walked in. You can see the chefs working hard to make sure every pizza platter was not empty. There was margherita, spinach, prosciutto, and truffle pizza. The margherita and spinach pizzas were cheesy and delicious. The prosciutto was amazing. PILED with prosciutto, the saltiness was perfect atop the gooey cheesy pizza. There was no skimping here. My favorite pizza, however, was the truffle pizza. The amount of truffle flavor was just indescribable. Every bite was just as good. When the juicy goodness ran down your face as you bit into this perfectly made slice, you made sure to try to save it. It was just that amazing. The best thing at the Peroni event! There was also a meatball sub slider that was added to the pizza station. Let me tell you, that was probably one of the juiciest, most flavorful meatballs I’ve ever had. It really was delicious.

Next up was the seafood section. There were so many options, and for the low price of the ticket it was definitely worth it. They had tuna tartare, ceviche, shrimp cocktail, oysters, and stone crab. The ceviche and tuna tartare were very light and fresh. You can never go wrong with shrimp cocktail, right? They didn’t here. Also very fresh and tasty. Next were the oysters. Now I’m not a fan of oysters at all, but I think my guest ate enough for the both of us. According to him they were super fresh and the sauce they had on the side paired perfectly. Add a squeeze of lemon and BAM! Out of this world flavor. My favorite from the seafood section were the stone crabs. I think I ate more than I should’ve, but how can you resist when they’re just sitting there begging to get eaten?!

On to the charcuterie board. I LOVE me some cheese and meats so I made sure to try everything on there. They had a display of different cheeses and meats, paired with grapes and cinnamon raisin bread. Everything was amazing! The cheeses they served paired perfectly with the meats. Good thing I was getting full from the seafood and pizza, if not I would’ve done serious damage to this section.

Last, but certainly not least, was the dessert section. You can always make room for dessert, am I right?! There were mini adorable cupcakes, chocolate-covered strawberries, what looked liked chocolate-covered Oreos, cookies, and several other chocolate based items. My favorite were the chocolate-covered strawberries, they were so sweet but light. Everything was amazing. The desserts were rich and decadent. Of course we can’t forget about the Peroni inspired cocktails. They were great as well. We traveled through the venue, visited every section, and thus came the sweet end. This was a delightful event that left our stomachs full and taste buds satisfied! We highly recommend you return for their next event! Peroni
