Osteria La Madia – Flavorful Apps and Scratch Made Pasta

Osteria La Madia – Flavorful Apps and Scratch Made Pasta

By Josephine Layug

I recently had the opportunity to take a friend out to Osteria La Madia on Grand Avenue in Chicago. Osteria La Madia serves elevated pizza and pastas that are made in-house from scratch every day. And their cocktails and wines cannot be missed! During our dinner, we saw a packed assortment of guests: girls out for ladies night, celebrating couples and a party in the backroom. We knew we picked just the right place for a fantastic night out.

We started with the Moscow Mule and Negroni Bianco. The Moscow Mule was a very refreshing and crisp cocktail. If you’re in search of a stronger drink, the Negroni Bianco is perfect for you.

Shortly after drinks, our appetizers arrived! We had the Spinach & Taleggio White Truffle Fondue with Sardinian bread, which was such an explosively flavorful combination. The bread was so soft and airy, and the fondue was creamy and well balanced. We also had the totally drool-worthy Fire Roasted Crispy Artichokes. They were grilled to perfection, and the Whole Grain Mustard Dipping Sauce really complimented the artichokes. When our server came to clear away the plates, we wouldn’t let him take the fondue with him!

Our entrees arrived, and our mouths watered over the Farfalle Carbonara, the Chicken Milanese and the Seared Scallops. The Farfalle Carbonara was rich with Pancetta, Peas, Rapini and Egg Yolk. The Chicken Milanese came with a creamy Mascarpone Polenta, and it just so happened to get dipped into our remaining Spinach and Taleggio Fondue! The Seared Scallops were pleasantly tender and was paired with Fennel Braised Faro, Purple Asparagus and a Crudite of Farm Vegetables.

We ended out Tour de Italy with Osteria La Madia’s Rhubarb Pie and Vanilla Ice ream. It was delicious down to the last bite.  I highly recommend making room for the delectable seasonal treats.

Osteria La Madia is the perfect place to go for date night, dinner with friends or a small party. It’s easy to enjoy nicely crafted cocktails, mouth-watering antipasti, scratch-made pastas and the freshest handmade pizzas.
