Breast Cancer Awareness Month (and Other Orlando October Events!)

Orlando October Events

October is one of the greatest months of the year. It is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which honors women of all colors, shapes and sizes affected by this terrible disease. Research and education are celebrated and encouraged, not only to ensure early detection, but so that we may one day find a cure.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are proud to share the below pink October menu specials that will contribute to local organizations that support breast cancer awareness.

  • The Ravenous Pig in Winter Park will be serving Titos for Tatas ($12) – a refreshing pink cocktail featuring Tito’s vodka, raspberry-basil cordial, and lime and lavender bitters, shaken to perfection and served up with a raspberry garnish. A portion of the proceeds from each cocktail will be donated to Libby’s Legacy, a local organization that supports the Central Florida community through education, mammograms, follow-up diagnostics and Hope Coaches.
  • Dragonfly Robata on Restaurant Row will turn your favorite maki roll pink with pink soy paper for only $1. All proceeds from the “upgrade your roll” promotion will be donated to the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation, an organization striving to ensure government funding for research, quality healthcare without discrimination, and healthy environments.

October also brings Halloween, the first breezes of fall, and great foodie events! Here are some more Orlando October events going on:

Friday, October 13 – Celebrate World Food Day at The Rusty Spoon

Every year for World Food Day, restaurants around the nation donate 10 percent of their proceeds to Chef Jose Andres’ World Central Kitchen’s Smart Solutions to Hunger and Poverty. Since landing in Puerto Rico a little over a week ago, Andres has successfully served more than 130,000 people who were affected by Hurricane Maria. This year helping further that cause is Kathleen Blake of The Rusty Spoon who, along with more than 150 restaurants and well-known chefs from across the nation, will use the power of food to empower communities and strengthen economies.

The Rusty Spoon, 55 W. Church Street in Orlando.

Saturday, October 14 – Sunday Funday, but on Saturday at Canvas Restaurant & Market
