The Local House – Miami Beach’s Hidden Neighborhood Gem

The Local House invited us to experience their Father’s Day Brunch, and we could not have been more impressed and delighted! This cozy spot is located just south of 5th in the heart of Miami Beach. Although it was a popular holiday, The Local House felt like a close family gathering. Our server was very attentive and gracious, and the ambiance and atmosphere overall felt welcoming and inviting. The homey and non-touristy vibe with the delicious food made for an incredible experience.

The Local House

We began our delightful brunch with libations and appetizers. You can never go wrong with a bubbly Prosecco Mimosa and a nice La Rubia Blonde Ale, made locally here in the Wynwood district. These paired fabulously with my favorite dish of the day, the Cheesy Croquettes. Made with savory guava sauce and goat cheese, these were an explosion of sweet and tangy flavors in my mouth.  I would definitely return here just to eat these!

We then dived into breakfast with the classic French toast. Classic only in the name, this toast featured caramelized bananas and candied walnuts to sweeten the bite with a crunch! The soft brioche bread was toasted in all the right places, and drizzled with powdered sugar and maple syrup ,it was nothing short of wonderful!

Up next were the finger licking good Spiced Grilled Oysters! Secret spices, garlic, and dill cream were in these beauties, and I couldn’t get enough! Definitely a treat for oyster lovers and newbies alike. Having them grilled greatly enhanced the taste of the spices and added a smoky grilled effect to the oysters as well.

To top off a perfect dining experience, we thoroughly enjoyed this divine red velvet cake. Succulently moist and sweet with cream cheese icing and chocolate chips, it was pure ecstasy on plate. 10/10, would have to eat again, and again, and again…

The Local House features sumptuous dinner selections as well. The brunch menu is only a small piece of the foodie puzzle and we encourage you to come and experience all they have to offer. With the cozy and inviting atmosphere, you may never want to leave!
