The Tasting:

I was fortunate enough to arrange a tasting of this amazing menu celebrating JFAT and Oktoberfest at their awesome Woodland Hills location.

JFAT Oktoberfest Menu

The Dead Ringer made by Ballast Point Brewing Co., a toasted malt lager, low in hop bitterness, with a sweet, caramel toffee flavor and aroma. Served ice cold, this beer was as tasty as it was refreshing.

These Brat Sliders were rich in flavor and a great plate to share with your friends. The chips are crisp, seasoned nicely and house made. The bratwurst was so tasty that I wish I had a German pen pal to write to about it.

The German Sausage plate featured three different but equally delish sausages over creamy mashed potatoes and apple braised cabbage. These ingredients combine to make for some pleasurable bites.

The Schnitzel at JFAT would cause Oktoberfest and German food enthusiasts to salivate in anticipation of consuming this fantastic dish. The schnitzel is fried to perfection and best when consumed with the braised cabbage and tangy potato salad, a true taste of Oktoberfest!

A big thank you to the folks at Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern in Woodland Hills for the welcoming hospitality and great service. Be sure not to miss this tasty Oktoberfest menu while it lasts!

Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern Concept:

The idea for Jimmy’s Famous American Tavern, or JFAT, grew out of the early tavern tradition that had its initial roots in Renaissance England and the sprouted up in New England states. The early versions were primarily ”drinking establishments” offering up a limited array of food, sometimes of dubious quality. But they became social havens for locals and travelers alike that offered comfort and camaraderie. At the core of our concept is still based upon great brews, cocktails, and wines but we wanted it to be a modern day interpretation…to create a social gathering place that serves both great drinks but also great food. A casual, comfortable, yet sophisticated neighborhood place great for a quick lunch, relaxing dinner or celebration with friends for any occasion.
