Freaky Deaky 2016 – Top 11 Acts to See

Freaky Deaky 2016 – Top 11 Acts to See

By: Ryan Haber

This Halloween, Freaky Deaky is returning to Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL. Located just a few miles outside of the downtown area, this is sure to be biggest and best Halloween festival in the Midwest! React Presents, the Midwest entertainment powerhouse, has put together a fantastic line-up for this Halloween weekend. I’m here to give you an outline of the can’t miss shows.

Freaky Deaky single-days

  1. Disclosure (DJ Set) – I have had the pleasure of seeing Disclosure back in 2013 at back to back after parties, the first being a live set and a DJ set subsequently. It was absolutely one of the best and coolest music experiences of my life! With their 2015 release of Caracal, the UK duo powered back to the top spot reaching the #1 spot of Billboard’s US Dance/Electronic Albums. This is sure to be a top notch show.
  2. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike – These Belgian brothers are the bee’s-knees in the EDM scene right now. Currently the duo holds the #2 spot of DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs. Although they do not have any solo albums, they have tons of remixes with huge artists such at Martin Garrix, Ummet Ozcan, and Steve Aoki. They are on my “must see” list this season and they should be on yours as well.
  3. DJ Snake – This French Trap-master is sure to put on an awesome show. As a two-time Billboard Music Award winner, DJ Snake definitely has the chops to put on a great set. You should expect to get your “Lean On”.
  4. Tiesto – Everybody knows Tiesto; the man is a legendary DJ and has a hugely popular podcast: Tiesto’s Club Life. If you haven’t seen him, be sure to visit this set and check this one off your list.
  5. DJ Khaled – This is quite possibly the most charismatic performer in the game right now. His longevity is only outperformed by his success, and for good reason. This Snapchat king is one of the most fun social-media personalities out there and has some fun club music to groove to. So get over to his set. Who knows? You might just get onto his Snapchat Story.
  6. Schoolboy Q – The gritty Top Dawg Entertainment performer is sure to be one of my favorites this year. I have been following the TDE crew since the late 2000’s and have been an avid listener. He will be sure to pull out some fan favorites from Oxymoron and his 2016 release Blank Face.
  7. A$AP Ferg – This Harlem native and member of the A$AP Mob is an incredible rapper. This year he released his second studio album Always Strive & Prosper which reached the #8 spot on the Billboard 200. If you are a fan of the A$AP Mob, don’t miss this one.
  8. Gramatik – This awesome DJ is a must see, his skill at producing chill and jazzy tracks is second to none. In addition to his solo acts he is heavily involved with Big Gigantic and Griz, which is a perfect mix for some of the coolest music you have ever seen.
  9. Desiigner – I have been binging on New English since I first heard Panda and am very excited to see this GOOD Music member. This Brooklyn native has a great album and is sure to get you moving.
  10. Duke Dumont – I had been trying to see Duke Dumont for years and so my anticipation for his show was high. I finally saw him at Electric Forest this year and was not let down. Duke puts on a fun and groovy show that you can absolutely dance to. Be there or be square.
  11. MK – Marc Kinchen is in my opinion one of the most under-rated artists out there. This Detroit native has been making hit tracks since the 90’s and is a well-seasoned DJ. His sets are filled with great deep-house, if you make it to this set you will not be disappointed.
