Divino Ceviche Restaurant Review – Giralda under the Stars

Divino Ceviche Restaurant Shines at Giralda under the Stars

Giralda under the Stars brings restaurant row in the Gables to life! Taking place every first Friday of the month now through April 2016, this event offers al fresco seating and dining as Miami finally begins to cool down during the winter months. Many of the restaurants like Divino Ceviche also offer special menus for this romantic evening setting! The road comes to life at night – bursting with live music, starry-eyed outdoor dining, bars sponsored by Zacapa Rum, and even a fun-filled photo booth!

Street Scene

If you’re familiar with Giralda Avenue, you’re aware that all the restaurants along the street are spectacular. This makes it extremely difficult to choose which restaurants to sample, but since the event is recurring through April, it gives you the chance to try each place! For the evening, I decided to dine at Divino Ceviche… and I definitely made the right choice! As an appetizer, the Pulpo (octopus) Anticuchero is an excellent choice. The octopus is grilled, served on a stick over a fried potato, and garnished with fresh micro greens. It’s also accompanied by a zesty sauce to dip into for some added flavor.

For Divino Ceviche entrees, I ordered the Trio of Ceviche and the Pescado a lo Macho. The ceviche is truly divine as the trio offers the chance to taste three amazingly different styles of ceviche.

The Pescado a lo Macho is fried fish served with octopus, mussels, and calamari in a creamy sauce. It comes with a plentiful portion of rice and potato. Both dishes brought back memories of my recent trip to Peru, so this is truly authentic cuisine. To go along with dinner I highly recommend the maracuya sour, which is a pisco sour with passion fruit juice – beyond splendid!

Dinner was incredible and, of course, it had to be followed up with a dessert! I knew I had to have a Suspiro. Directly translated it means “sigh” in English. I think that’s because the caramel really does leave you breathless. This must be one of the best suspiros I have ever had – it was topped with “meringue” and served in a martini glass. Perfectly sweet and whipped, it was the perfect ending to this authentic Peruvian dinner.

As the weather in Miami finally begins to cool, these nights can only get better. The next Giralda Under the Stars is coming up this Friday, the first Friday in December, and luckily it also coincides with gallery night. So either before or after dinner, you can delight in the artwork on display at the art galleries throughout Coral Gables as you explore the tantalizing cuisine of Divino Ceviche and Giralda Avenue.
