Decadence NYE – Epic New Years Eve Dance Party in Denver

Decadence NYE – Epic New Years Eve Dance in Denver

Grab your loins and your man-buns, 2015 is coming to a close. In the mix of your last minute Christmas shopping and your begrudging participation in holiday office parties, you’re looking for an escape from all the stress and obligation that comes with the holiday season. Luckily for us all there is one sound holiday tradition that will forever be held dear to us all – Raging in the New Year, and Decadence NYE is set and ready to help us celebrate.

For those who don’t want to spend another New Year getting drinks spilled on them at some dingy bar, there are tons of EDM festivals and shows scheduled for the end of December. But scanning through all of these NYE lineups one stands out way above the rest, The City of Decadence.

Decadence NYE

On December 30/31 Global Dance, AEG Live and Live Nation are helping EDM lovers ring in the new year with a two day festival with the most impressive party lineup around. Seriously, my face melted off when they announced the headliners. With acts like Bassnectar, Odesza, Big G, Jack U …!!! The list goes on.

Amazon offers some great awesome & affordable EDM gear:

With a line up like this its going to be hard to catch ALL of the amazing acts. Here’s who we’re looking forward to seeing the most:

What So Not: With tracks like High You Are and Jaguar that mix flowy sexy melodies with bouncy trap drops, What So Not is bound to bring a huge crowd of fun loving party-goers. Tell Me was R.L. Grime’s and WSN’s 2015 drop that’s been mixed and mashed up into TONS of songs this year, hopefully Emoh will perform his own mix of the track that we can all get down to.

Odesza: Decadence will be the THIRD time I’ve seen Odesza this year and I’m just as excited as the first. The duo has yet to disappoint on a performance, incorporating their own drums, and a few times this year live brass ensembles, to their melodic and bassy space tunes. I’m especially excited to hear their unreleased track that they first performed at Coachella this year and continuously end their performances on (for real the drop is life changing). My body is ready for Odesza to take me away just one more time this year.

Deadmau5:
A lot of rumors have gone on around about Joel this past week, mostly about him ‘quitting’ which made my heart drop. Deadmau5 was one of the first artists that got me really excited about EDM, and Decadence NYE was my chance to see him live for the first time! Anyway, rest assured hes only quitting social media after a wicked rant about Justin Bieber – that was completely justified and on point, but I wont get into that. Apparently he got bombarded by Beliebers so with a prompt ‘Fuck Social Media’ post he deleted his profiles and posted two new tracks, ‘00001’ and ‘00002’. They are pretty spacey and weird, but I can dig it.

Bassnectar: I rang in 2015 with my fellow Bassheads at 360 last year so it’ll be pretty awesome to relive the memories. Though he’ll be playing on the 30th (he did this last year as well – ya know, because of 360). There’s literally nothing like a Bassnectar show- the crowd, the vibe, and of course, the Bass. He was almost too much to bear at his three-day Red Rocks show earlier this year, but with no newly-in-place sound ordinance restrictions on him at the Convention Center its exciting to think about what he’s going to bring to the table.

Jack Ü: Yaaaaaasssss. That’s all I have to say really. Diplo has to be my all time favorite producer and his collaboration with Skrillex (which BTW cutest bromance ever) to make Jack Ü has just been a gift upon us all. Its unfortunate that Justin Bieber has been LUCKY enough for the duo to ALLOW the lil’ twerp to use their amazing beats – that’s neither here nor there. There are literally so many song’s I’m pumped to hear, Febreze (feat. 2 Chainz) – To Ü – Take Ü There – Holla Out (feat. Snails & Taranchyla) oh my god so many more. Jack Ü will definitely be nastiest and the highlight of the whole party.

Big Gigantic: As Colorado natives Big G has a fitting place in the NYE festivities at Decadence NYE. Playing on actual NYE the hip-hop jazzy ensemble is bound to bring a great vibe to the whole scene. With wide range of large-scale music festivals like Bonnaroo, Waka, Ultra, Hang Out (the list goes on) under their belts, the duo are old pros at the festival scene and know how to amp up a crowd.

Jai Wolf: Jai Wolf made his big debut with Indian Summer, which I was love struck with the first time I’ve ever heard it. Each song is a melodic and spacey adventure with explosive crescendos and light as a feather chimes. His music tells a story but is still fun and flowy to dance to. With only a few older tracks like Trophy Wife and a bunch of amazing remixes that have caught the interest of Skrillex and Odesza, I’m really looking forward to how he performs live, especially being relatively new at putting out original tracks.

Tommy Trash: Gotta throw it to Tommy to be the Big Room act to see at Decadence. Seeing him a few times before, especially in 2011 at the height of his tracks it’ll be an amazing set to see for NYE. The Aussie has a special talent for pumping up a crowd with warm fuzzy buildups with deep drops. TT just dropped his newest EP Love U Giv a month ago so there is no doubt he’ll be playing these fun and flashy tracks on NYE.

The Floozies: The Floozies are going to be a funky and refreshing twist on the festivities. Utilizing the power of funk the duo will no doubt draw a fun crowd that wants to boogy down. Their newest album Do Your Thing with songs like Fantastic Love and Shes Not Your Girlfriend is a master mix of electronic, funk rock, hip-hop, jazzy amazingness that flows in and out of your ears like the funk ought to do.

Son of Kick: BASS. That’s really all I got. Son of Kick is new to me, from what I’ve learned he released this brutal display of the sheer magnitude of his bass with Playing The Villain (its just a music video, don’t worry) back in 2011- Anyway falling under the wing of the likes of Bassnectar Son of Kick is definitely a must see at Decadence NYE for a head-bangin good time.

DABIN: I’ll call myself out – I’m a sucker for melodic space tunes with pretty female vocals. Hold by DABIN immediately caught my interest but with songs like Touch or Running to You its clear DABIN’s music is the kind that surrounds you and transports you into another world of lovely sounds and crazy beats. DABIN’s set will be the kind of performance that will give you chills – mixed in with the production of Decadence I will be gravely disappointed if I don’t get to see this set up close.

Decadence NYE 2015

For those lucky enough to know about and plan ahead for the festivities, its obvious Decadence NYE in Colorado is going to be the biggest, banging-est, and best party around. If you’re still trying to figure out how you’re going to ring in the New Year Decadence NYE is definitely worth a look. Unfortunately there are no longer GA tickets available for December 31st, but you can still party on the 30th or spring for 2-day passes. Honestly with the lineup they have in store, I would highly recommend it.
