Lee Brian Schrager’s foodie-licious 2016 Culinary Cinema series marks its 5th year at Miami Dade College’s Miami International Film Festival, which is celebrating its 33rd anniversary, and runs from March 4 – 13, 2016.

Schrager, the founder and director of the South Beach Food and Wine Festival, has programmed a selection of sumptuous foodie films that are each paired with a three-course film-inspired meal and wine at an outstanding local restaurant.

CRUSHED 

An Australian-set thriller about a young woman who returns home to her family vineyard after her father’s death is ruled a murder and her mother becomes the prime suspect.

Set in Japan, this visual drama centers around a gruff loner who operates a hole-in-the-wall dorayaki (Japanese street pancake) eatery and his new assistant, -a delightful, grandmotherly lady who has an old-school approach to preparing the red bean paste that constitutes the dorayaki’s delicious center.
