Culinary Fight Club – Savory Chocolate Chef Fight

Culinary Fight Club is back with another installation of the Chef Fight event series. This month’s challenge: Savory Chocolate. The event will take place this coming Monday, February 13th, at everyone’s favorite bowling spot, Lucky Strike. Chef teams will have one hour, fifteen ingredients and three surprise ingredients to prepare a dish to wow the judges.
As always, 20% of the proceeds will be donated to Fight2Feed, a Chicago charity focused on fighting hunger in our great city. Doing their part, Reinhart Foodservice will be donating all the food used in this Chef Fight, keeping the cost of the event down and allowing for a larger donation to this fantastic charity. Props to Reinhart for being such a strong supporter of the community!
Attendees will receive two hours of sponsored Beer & Wine, grub that will be available from Lucky Strike, and one ballet for the Taster’s Choice Award. The award is given out at every Chef Fight to commend one skilled chef for their dish; it’s the “People’s Choice Award” of this culinary cook-off! Just to clarify, attendees will be able to taste the competing dishes, that is if you get the booths in time! I try to be fair and leave some for everyone, but if a dish blows my mind, all bets are off. My apologies to the attendees I upstaged while Bogarting at December’s Sip + Bite Challenge at Bottled Blonde.
A bit more on the theme of Monday’s Chef Fight: it’s called The Savory Chocolate. Initially, when I heard chocolate and February, I was thinking sweet flavors in correspondence with Valentine’s Day. I am very happy to say this is going to be way better than the Cocoa you are buying for your girlfriend. You really want to be the real king of V-Day? Then step your game up, cop some tickets to this event, and make it a Monday/Tuesday, one-two punch. Now you can show her that you’re more than just a sap at heart; you are sophisticated and worldly with a taste for chocolates of all kinds! She’ll thank you for spicing it up this year!
The event starts at 6:00 PM and runs till 9:00PM this Monday February 13th at Streeterville’s Lucky Strike, located at 322 East Illinois Street. I highly suggest you get there on time because the beginning is extremely exciting!
