Bocce’s Second Chefs Bocce Ball Tournament Begins

Have you ever wanted to meet, mingle, drink or flirt with some of Miami’s Top Chefs? Well get ready because Bocce will kick off their second Chefs Bocce Ball Tournament on Monday, October 6 with a stellar line up of restaurants including 1826 Restaurant and Lounge, EDGE Steak + Bar, MC Kitchen, Michael Mina 74, SHIKANY, The Forge and Wynwood Kitchen + Bar. Every Monday for the next seven weeks, local chefs will throw down for the title of King/Queen of the Bocce Ball Tournament.

Kicking off the series is EDGE Steak + Bar vs. SHIKANY, who will face-off in a best-of-three match. The series culminates with a championship game on November 24 where the final teams will compete to steal the thrown from the reigning King of Bocce Ball, Salumeria 104, who won the first tournament.

Bocce ball is played with eight large balls and one smaller target or object ball called ‘il pallino.’ There are four balls to a side, or team, and they are made in two colors to be distinguished from the opposing team. The object is to get the respective balls as close to ‘il pallino’ as possible.
