Fall/Winter Cocktails are in Season at Big City Tavern Las Olas

Big City Tavern Las Olas Unveils Fall/Winter Cocktail Menu

Big City Tavern, situated on famous Las Olas Boulevard, is not only a neighborhood staple – it’s a throwback to the classic “big city” taverns of yesteryear. Ervin Machado, the esteemed beverage director of Big City Tavern Las Olas, is blessed with the creativity that allows him to switch up the seasonal cocktail menu while keeping patrons happy. At a demo last week, we were lucky enough to get a sneak preview of what he has up his sleeve for this upcoming fall/winter season.

A total of nine drinks were sampled, and I had a few favorites. The Tequila Mockingbird, made with pineapple, jalapeno fresno peppers, all infused with Milagro silver tequila, was easily number one on my list. The spicy additions will make it a chilly evening favorite. Of cours, since its fall, they had to throw some pumpkin in there by way of a pumpkin martini: vanilla vodka, half and half, and pumpkin puree. Consider it a spiked pumpkin spice latte – and the spike makes everything better.

An interesting fact about the cocktails at Big City Tavern Las Olas – they use their own completely self-designed Angel’s Envy bourbon. Everything from the barrel and age, to the alcohol percentage is hand chosen to create their one of a kind and non-duplicable bourbon.

Along with Big City Tavern’s award winning menu, these cocktails are sure to help us manage the unbearable South Florida winter.
